Simple Things Festival 2012

Just over a week away from its second year in action, Bristol's Simple Things Festival looks set to take the city by storm all over again. We raved it up to the sounds of Baths, The Nextmen, Bibio, Jamie xx and Gonjasufi last year and learnt the art of making buddies in the queue/agreeing on group code sounds when we all inevitably lost each other.

This year acts like rapper Ghostpoet, dream-poppers Still Corners, dance legends Simian Mobile Disco and experimental synth queen Grimes (who just blew people's minds on Jools Holland last night) will take to the stage when the one-day party descends on the city. From 2pm to 4am on Sunday the 6th of May 6 venues will play host to the 60 confirmed acts, and be stuffed to the gills with Bristolians and revellers from further afield.

Early bird tickets have sold out, but you can still grab £38.50 general sale ones from SeeTickets, Crack Magazine or Bristol Ticket Shop. In person nab them from Rise Records, Cooshti, Idle Records and the physical Bristol Ticket Shop on Broadmead.

We're especially looking forward to catching Warp Records' golden boy Rustie, Texan reverb-lovers Boy Friend, Caribou, Factory Floor, dark dubstep maverick Becoming Real and Bristol's own Dutty Girl. Let's just hope we can fit them all in!

Head to the Simple Things site for more info, and follow them on Facebook and Twitter to hear the latest news in the build-up to the fest. Click here to peep their video from last year's festival, featuring interview time with Daedelus, The Kelly Twins and a whole bunch of enthusiastic partygoers.
